Cinnamon Rolls

From my mother, Martha Espey

  • ½ cup warm water
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 pkgs of yeast
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups flour (she never measured the flour)
  • ½ cup butter (1 stick)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  1. Mix ½ cup of warm water and sugar with the yeast. Set aside to activate.
  2. In another bowl, mix 2 cups of warm water with beaten eggs, and then add the salt and yeast mixture.
  3. Add flour until it forms a firm ball and doesn’t stick to the bowl.
  4. Let it rise to double the size.
  5. Roll out the dough and spread the butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar on it.
  6. Moisten the edges with water and roll up.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
